I don’t mind that half of you are slack-ass lumps o’ standing-in-line-weary goo… but do I really have to pay for your postage? Really?? In theory, you are supposed to be retired or on vacation during the election to vote absentee – in both cases you either have enough time to make it to the voting booth, or enough money to PAY YOUR OWN DAMN POSTAGE. I understand the medical exceptions, obviously, but for everyone else, I say WTF?
If you are so important that you can’t get out to vote in person for an hour or two once every four years, is it really too much to have to pick up your own convenience tab of $1 (or whatever postage would be for oversized letters). And on the other hand, it’s only $1, right? No big deal? Until you add it up nationwide and put them all on one tab and hand it to the government to pay. Millions and millions.
A friend just told me that some people won’t vote because they can’t find a stamp. Banks, grocery stores, mini-marts… just a few examples of places other than the dreaded post office to acquire stamps these days.
I vote absentee. There is a voting facility 3 blocks from my home.
Thank you for subsidizing me.
Sincerely,
Guy Who Detests Lines
It was my privelege to pay for your postage, Weis. I know you voted like me, so you’re good. Anyone else use the computer voting booth? I liked my experience. Fast, easy, nothing confusing about it, except the little printout in the window for verifying your choices before exiting. I wasn’t quite sure where that was for a minute and I felt like I was snooping on the neighboring booth while looking for it. I also noticed that people were weary of the computer booth. There were fewer of these booths, yet they were available more often then not while I was in line.
Hellyeah, lines suck… so does working… I’d like the government via you to subsidize all my sh*t.
Ruffo just got back from Peru. Maybe he’ll stay in the US until 2009, but it’s hard to guess.
How’s Vega$? Enjoy the election?
Good to know he’s back safe.
There was an election?!
Oh, totally. The Tacoma North End Neighborhood Council selected some new board members. Pretty intense.
Yeeeaaaahhh, Northside, baby!
By-the-way, have you had the pleasure of rockin’ Rockband 2 yet? Holla!
In the words of Dennis De Young, “Why must you be such an angry young man?”
PS – voting is for suckers.
